Observation details
Foraging with 2 White-rumped Sandpipers allowed direct comparison. Baird's was longer than nearby Semipalmated + Least Sandpipers. Grayish mantle with dark spots. Pale supercilium separating gray-brown crown and side of face. Dark legs. All-white underparts and sides - zero streaks present like a White-rumped Sandpiper would show. I was watching (through spotting scope) the Baird's and a White-rumped Sandpiper foraging beside each other when the flock of shorebirds flushed. The Baird's had a dark stripe down the middle of a whitish rump and the White-rumped had an all-white band across its rump.
