Observation details

Almost certainly the same bird that flew over Dufferin earlier this morning (see my earlier checklist S111062786 from today). Was looking through scope when I saw it flying upriver past the furthest back of the Canadian "colony" islands (where the cormorants and egrets are nesting); another bird (I think a gull) started chasing it and it flew to one of the islands just above the falls on the American side. Adult. Overall greyish colour (no black back), longer trailing legs in flight than BCNH, top of head strikingly pale, white stripe against black on cheek. Photos to be uploaded.
