Observation details
Went back with camera after the 9:32 AM sighting. 3 all-white birds with long legs & neck, the shape of herons/egrets but smaller than Great Blue Heron, seen wading at the shore & flying. Considered alternate ID of Little Blue Herons. We did not see yellow feet or yellow on bills but cannot be sure. However, they were chasing their prey some of the time, in the manner of Snowy Egrets - specifically standing still and then chasing before they attacked. (I've never personally observed Little Blue Herons hunt, but the hunting style of these birds was distinctly different from the Great Blue Herons I see regularly. Further, the hunting style descriptions are much more similar to the Snowy Egret than the Little Blue Heron.) If these were Little Blue Herons they are juveniles, and we did not see any adult Little Blue Herons. Photos are of only one of the birds. In the 3rd photo, it appears that some of the feathers are very "feathery"/wispy, similar to a Snowy Egret breeding adult.
