Observation details
Found by Steve Tracy… he suggested that an assumed “western” peep appeared in flight to have a white rump. Also… very long primary extension. We chased the two peeps around and found them on a sandbar near the west side of the pond. Finally getting a good look through my scope I did notice that the rump was correct for WR peep. I finally got several photos which show the rump, long wing extension and yellow at the base of the lower mandible. Amazing.
