Observation details
Widespread and fairly common. Occasionally heard giving alarm calls or a few sporadic songs early and late in the day. The distinctive local form often referred to as Snethlage's Gnateater, with the more standard eastern form of Conopophaga aurita reported from the area but not found by us; it presumably occurs on the other side of the Teles Pires to Cristalino (i.e. no overlap with Snethlage's).
