Observation details
Lifer! Saw at least four individuals foraging together amongst some Dunlins, Semipalmanted Plovers, and Semipalmated Sandpipers. Size intermediate between Semipalmated Sandpipers and Dunlin. First picture shows namesake white rump of an individual bullying a Semipalmated Sandpiper. Second picture shows size comparison relative to Dunlin. Third picture shows long primary projection and rufous base of lower mandible. Fourth picture shows size comparison relative to Semipalmated Sandpiper.
