Observation details
In identifying this species I took photos and videos and then I did the identification. Based on the literature I've read, on White-faced Plover, the black loral doesn't look as visible and the patch behind the eye isn't as dark as Kenthis. To strengthen my opinion I tried to ask another observer for help by sharing the photo and he said that this is probably a White-faced Plover. I found him at the mouth of the Krueng Sabee River which is directly connected to the sea on the west coast of Sumatra. This species is found in small groups along with several other shorebird species. In the morning they play near the undulating coast, and in the afternoon I see them move to a region of calm water basins near the coast.
