Observation details
**Very rare in context. One of only three inland COTE records for Westchester (one being fairly close to the Sound at Kensico Res, and the other being a group of storm driven birds in Somers). Part of todays mass incursion of mostly ARTE into the region (more on this under ARTE). A truly incredible find by Sean Camillieri. Associating closely with the ARTE, often diving and flying together and rarely separating for long. A wonderful comparison to have next to the ARTE! Really highlighted those subtle differences. Overall larger, darker winged, pale chested, shorter tailed, and less buoyant flight than ARTE.
