Observation details
This was exciting! While watching a group of Townsend’s Warblers moving through the trees I heard, twice, the distinctive call of a Wrentit. I immediately recognized it and started listening for it but didn’t hear it again. Thinking I might’ve imagined it, I played a couple Wrentit calls. I got no response, until a bird popped out of the brush in front of me. It was gray, with a long tail. Similar to a Bushtit but larger and longer tailed. Only got a brief view before it disappeared back into the brush, but was able to see white eye and pink throat. After that it moved on and continued calling, very frequently. Recorded audio. Bird first heard and seen from the Enduro trail, though it appeared to move in the direction of the Ridgeview trail based on calls. Location of my sighting: https://goo.gl/maps/9wHyPG9aL3TcMtU2A According to Dave Haupt and Kevin Spencer there is likely a resident population around Moore Mountain.
