Observation details
Continuing gorgeous alternate bird. Structurally very similar to Dunlin, and would have been difficult to pick out as a pure silhouette, but it did appear notably slimmer with more attenuated flight feathers and slightly longer legs. This bird had a rather short bill for a Curlew Sandpiper. Digibinned photos and video. Gorgeous brick red face and body, brighter speckled red and black upperparts.
