Observation details
Extremely rare migrant. Flew off after 30 minutes or so and not seen again. Very good views through binoculars and scope from 75 feet away. Photos were digiscoped and best I could get since the bird was actively moving around. About 6 inches long. Dark grayish-blue above and pale lemon yellow below, including throat. Some blackish spotting/streaking on flanks. Undertail coverts white. Head solid grayish-blue except for small white eye arcs. Faint whitish wingbars. Yellow-rumped Warbler eliminated due to solid unpatterned head, yellowish throat, and lack of black on breast. Yellow-throated Warbler eliminated due to lack of black-and-white face pattern and yellow throat and breast way too pale. Magnolia Warbler eliminated due to underparts color way too pale yellow, lack of black on breast and belly, lack of black facial mask, and lack of white wing patch. Bird was singing for first 10 minutes or so.
