Observation details
KIO eBird first; heard singing in the juniper line and I immediately thought CAVI due to the burriness of most phrases, but not the hard burriness typical of PLVI; the phrases were much less distinct and isolated as my experience with PLVI suggests; so I jumped out of truck, started a recording, and looked for it; it didn’t want to come in to playback, but I saw it moving around; finally saw it to confirm and get pix; relatively drab SOVI, particularly considering that it was singing; obvious green tones to upperparts (head, back) and underparts (sides and less so on belly); moderate contrast between auriculars and throat primarily due to the drabness — non-whiteness — of the throat
