Observation details
The largest flight of this species that I've seen at Pt. Pinos, or anywhere for that matter. When I arrived at 4PM, big numbers were continuously streaming past the point, from just off the rocks to the limit of vision. Flock size numbered from 10s to many 100s. The volume of birds was impossible to count directly, so I did 1-minute counts every 15 min during the observation period, and extrapolated the total. 415: 2100; 430: 3500; 445: 3100; 500: 3600; 515: 2700; 530:2200; 545: 2400; 600: 1300; 615: 1200; 630: 1500; 645: 700. I will add video to document the count as best as I can.
