Observation details
It arrived from roughly the south, flying in over the marsh. My first thought was - that's an odd snipe, where's it's bill? It landed in the prairie just as the first dogwalkers arrived. It must have had a bad first impression because after disappearing (ducking down?), it was up again with a quick stuttering call - going high to the west. Largish shorebird with long neck and an eye like a super massive blackhole. Bill yellow with dark tip. Photos - arranged chronologically. Quarry bird #146...4 more to go...
