Observation details
Beautiful birds! As with many ornithologists, I can now say Ravens and Crows are very different, once both have really been observed. The Raven has a long, almost reptilian head, and much neater wings as well. Of course, it also has its penchant for soaring on thermals, which tipped my innder Condor alarm a lot at first. However... I was astonished at how the Condors absolutely dwarfed the Ravens around them, an almost surreal sense of scale at long range. I love their “Cronk” calls ringing out over the parched mountains; it’s a wonderfully evocative sound!
