Media notes
The fact that there are 8 birders spread out at this hotspot trying to get a look at the WTDO singing high up in a Sycamore tree, and there is not that much noise pollution in this clip. Fairly amazing. It also goes to show that all birders were well behaved keeping quiet as to not scare the bird.
Observation details
Heard low tonal repeated coos calling right out of the trailhead parking lot. Sang about 40 minutes straight. Flew across road after long duration of silence. Photographed in juniper up slope. Could see the body size was big and bulky, overall light tones a dingy white belly, light brown uppers, light gray on cap, tail was short and rounded with a white tip. Extensive white under tail.
