Extremely unexpected sighting of a Greater Flamingo in a ploughed tobacco field!
Observation details
Extremely unexpected! Was driving along one of the farm roads when I saw this Greater Flamingo in one of the ploughed tobacco fields close to a termite mound. The bird was gone later in the afternoon when I returned so presumably it landed here briefly before continuing. The farm dam is only a few hundred metres away so perhaps it was brought down by the water but didn't find a suitable place by the dam t land.
