Observation details
Holy mother of polar vortex!!! The storm did drop something 🥰 1c. Photos and video. You can tell its a kittiwake because of the way it is. Working its way north and eventually out of sight. Bold black M on wings, black tail band, wing tips “dipped in ink”, white underwings. More details to come. Update: Original text from the date: maybe this bird is the one reported as a sabine’s last week? The sole photo is ambiguous, and the descriptions are pretty lacking. Small size and “nearly complete hood” noted in one report suggests potentially different bird but idk. Additional update 4/30: definitely NOT the same bird, so Idaho's 5th Kittiwake! Cool.
