Observation details
In the field, the bird was suspicious of the Yellow ssp. After consulting with those more experienced and seeing a bunch of photos and videos, the ID was made to this ssp. Updated description from observation on 4/10: "The bird has a much more intense yellow in the face, throat, chest, belly, and into the vent whereas a western would only show yellow in the face/throat and vent. The consistency of the yellow throughout helps rule out western. The bird shows more defined, bold, red stripes on the chest than a western would show. The back is an olive color vs a cool brown that is seen in westerns."
