Observation details
Heard calls around 07:20 and again at 07:25, and OK made a voice reording. In the field we assumed this call was of Tawny-faced Gnatwren, but listening to the recording, and comparing sonograms, found that it matched some references for dawn song of the Ochre-breasted Antpitta (which is similar). Further examination of recordings finds this matches gnatwren better, or perhaps that some antpitta references may actually be misidentified. Habitat was mature rain forest on a steep hillside near 950 masl.
