Observation details
Probably continuing. In willows over creek 2/3rds way up from playground to end of trail at Bake. Bold white spectacles and wing bars, light-gray edgings to primaries/secondaries (not yellow/greenish like Cassin’s). Gray head (but not as dark as Blue-headed) and back. Gray side of face nicely delineated, (more delineated than Cassin’s and less than the sharply delineated Blue-headed). White underneath with hardly any (if any?) yellow wash (just wash of gray)on flanks (my Cassin’s was quite yellow underneath). A lot of white under the tail (more than Cassin’s). Thick bill. Not a retouched photo in the bunch. Quite a handsome bird. And the song is just like one (second choice on my phone) in eBird (not Merlin). Spot on: frequency, cadence, quality. Recording.
