Observation details
Spizella sparrow that was being really harassed by a grumpy White-crowned. At one point the WCSP latched onto its tail knocking it off the concrete barrier and briefly dangled it by its tail. Warm, tan type colors with no line through the eye as with Chipping. Warmer colored and more contrasty face and supercilium than would expect from Brewers. Distinct median crown stripe that appeared creamy white looking more buffy in photo. Unstreaked, all gray nape that contrasts with surrounding brown/buffy.
