NOTES: "Q3 (1-2 filtered)Requires filtering, see card; Large Courting Party, sounds accompanying headthrow; take-offs + wing whislte" (WWHG) [This rather long cut contains many examples of both the "zeee-ZEEE" and the "rrrt" calls (both are well represented at 4:22-4:43), which are described and pictured (in Figures II and III, respectively) on page 663 of Cramp et al. (1977. The birds of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. 1. Oxford University Press, Oxford), but neither are well described in BNA. These are apparently the most typical calls given by displaying males. Quality changed from 3 to 2-3 (with a good signal for some calls, but a bit busy with several other species in background, and a bit of road/train etc. noise - BEST part probably at 4:20-6:39) - CAM - 18 March 2005]. Other Behaviors: Depart, Court.
