Observation details

I discovered Robbie's "house" nest box, sitting on the shelf of the potting bench in the carport, contained at least two juvenile wrens. They were calling, begging for food. No parent was in sight at the time, despite staking out the nest for several minutes from far enough away that it seemed like the parent would notice me. Katie had seen a Carolina Wren messing around that area a couple weeks earlier, but I suspected that the juveniles were actually a House Wren based on the size of the nest structure. As it turns out, a couple days later, the identity of the babies was confirmed by seeing their parent: Carolina, after all.
