NOTES: "Short nasal quack of male and lower-pitched rhytmic call of female" (WWHG) [This recording contains two series of "Quacks" by a female and eight "Burps" by a male, the latter best described by Cramp et al. (1977. Handbook of the birds of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa: the birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. 1. Oxford University Press, Oxford) and shown in Fig. I on page 491. Series of "quacks" are given at 0:19-0:21 and 0:39-0:44, and "burps" are given at 0:18, 0:22, 0:23, 0:46, 0:50, 0:55, 0:58, and 1:00. Quality added (2 - approaching 2-1 but with quite a bit of hiss - probably the BEST available cut with both male and female calls of this species) - CAM - 21 March 2005].
