Media notes
photo taken with iphone with camera attachment thru Zeiss spotting scope
Observation details
Lone bird, first viewed with Zeiss 8x42 bins in small, leafless, many branched shrub/tree, appeared to be a grayish dove but smaller beak, lighter face, very scaled appearance, no visible spots on wings with relatively long tail with black in it with white edges when compared to usual mourning dove. Did not have spotting scope at that time. About 15-20 minutes later re-found dove in same general area. It moved to a pile of landscape rocks allowing excellent views thru Zeiss scope, obtained many pictures which are available upon request. Able to view pink feet, red eye and brown scalloped edges of feathers on the back. Chest and abdomen lighter in color with small streaks compared to back of bird. Bird did not vocalize.
