Observation details
I believe both of these birds have characteristics consistent with short-billed dowitcher. Note bill length and shape, eye placement and loral angle, coverts and wear patterns. Loral angle isn't as obvious in the right facing bird in this particular photo as I was shooting at a steeper angle to the bird.
