Media notes
Faint ksew calls, wails, and toots by a northern saw-whet owl. Trimmed and amplified by 36 dB (!). The sounds are still hard to hear, so use earbuds or headphones. Even so, the signal-to-noise ratio is low. Uploaded for documentation because the species is unusual at this low elevation (about 2600 feet) in these mountains.
Observation details
Heard only. Identified by its incessant tooting, which most likely indicates that it was a male. Faint audio recording.
