Observation details
Known from this location. Saw a dominant male with much darker plumage than the rest calling loudly from top of the grass and bushes. The bird likes to maintain certain distance. It takes long flights to other grass beds with slightly undulating flight and calling when on wings. It lands at the base of grass/bushes and can be seen swiftly walking away taking deep cover. It will then re-emerge from other side and gradually climb up the top of the grass to survey the situation. Sometimes it landed on bare rocks, spent couple of seconds looking over the shoulder and quickly taking cover in nearby grass. We also saw two individuals chasing one another. The female is noticeably smaller than the male and keeps low profile. Her calls are difficult to hear and not frequent. Regarding count - Saw 3 individual together at one point of time, could be 2 males and 1 female. Another individual was seen at far side near a wall with lot of grass and reed bed. There could certainly be more individuals upstream and downstream but reporting this conservative but definite number that we were able to observe.
