Observation details
Heard at 8:06 AM at 33.964156, -111.871402. this was a good 500 yards away from the creek, far from willows and cottonwoods. It was singing from a juniper about 30ft from me (I was on Bronco Creek Rd). I recorded it 3x. I am quite confident this is a Gray vireo - habitat is right for it. I would not expect a solitary vireo singing in chaparral scrub/junipers. I realize this is early. GRVIs have been found along Seven Springs Rd, and I believe I have found them here in the rec area in chaparral areas. I would have chased it for a photo but there was no way to get any footing where is was - way too steep. BEVIs were around and singing, but most all of then were closer to the creek (and I know BEVI from what is heard here). Recording are made from Videos - one can see where I am standing.
