Observation details
While we were discussing about Panna NP habitat and birds, Karthick shared thoughts of Ashwin Vishwanathan on White-tailed Iora, this species might be the overlooked in MP though it has the suitable habitat in Panna region. I too agree as I've seen this species in similar habitat around Mysore. But these Iora's weren't very vocal, not singing or calling continuously. When I heard this call recognized immediately, but able to record a single annotation only. Within few mins they flew out of our sight to nearby trees, but when I whistled their call thinking they are gone far, they just called back! the habitat is grassland with scrub and scattered trees and also had some teak plantations also. Audio confirmed by Ashwin V as a song of WTI
