Observation details
**Rare yet annual winter visitor and transient in Arizona. Flew by us while scanning from the Ten Lane Boat Ramp. a Medium-sized compact diving duck with a dark ear spot and hood on its white face, a brownish breast band, solid dark dorsal of wings, relatively long wedge-shaped tail, and small bill resembling that of a Harlequin Duck or goldeneye. Flew towards the south end of the lake. Photos to come...
