Observation details
***MEGA, maybe first state record (though at least one other older record seems good)...excellent views and in-flight photographs; located at ~12:05 after a few scans of gulls. Obviously same bird as found by D. Lovitch last Thursday. Pale brown overall with rather small, mostly dark bill. Dull pinkish at base (atypical??). Primaries darker brown than KUGU with pale fringes; tertials mostly solid brown with some white marbling at edges. In flight, "venetian blind" patter of primaries evident- pale inner webs, dark outer webs. Darker secondary bar and tail band, though bases of rectrices noticeably barred. Perhaps on pale end for Thayer's Gull, but seems to fit many other New England birds well, and looks "good enough" to me
