Observation details
Continuing, finally got good looks! Gray back and a fairly bright yellow belly, no wing bars, striped head. Very vocal; detectable by ear when you can pick up its calls, which sound sort of like a soft blackbird call, ticking, thicker than OCWA chips. Heard several other birders call this bird "obliging," but it was tricky to keep eyes on and see well, at least this time!! It was moving around faster than other warblers, taking long, erratically darting flights, covering a lot of ground. The labyrinthine paths make it tough to track at times. Mostly foraging low in tangled thickets, often near a Black-and-white Warbler. After much effort, finally got clearer views and ID photos. (For the longest time, my camera simply would not take a picture, unable to focus through all the branches. Ack!) Looks like this bird has been here since Nov 11, according to eBird reports
