Observation details

Recorded by Taylor and Rainey. I believe that most of these are backups of Rainey's recordings (in which case they were made on a high-quality mic and system, then backed up on to the minidisk). Recording ML42038321 was probably Taylor's, made on a Sony Minidisk. On recording ML42040901, the voice at the end is Rainey -- states that it is probable RFO, and gives the date (as 26 Feb, not 24 Feb as in this checklist, need to sort that out) and the time (but I can't make out the time ... 20 after ??? Rainey found a single bird earlier in the day -- it was flushed from the edge of a dry or nearly dry creek bed. We returned that evening and spent quite a bit of time (I can't remember whether it was an hour or even more) sitting on the bank of the creek bed while the pair of owls duetted and called all around us.
