Observation details
This diving duck was on the far side of the Myrtle Grove Lake, a bit farther than my lens' reach. It was alone. It stayed in the same area for the entire 2 hours we were there. The head was reddish brown, and after observing for several minutes at the beginning and again at the end of our visit, we determined there was not another diving duck that looks similar in the Sibley's Field Guide. COGO have been reported in both Charles and St. Mary's counties. Sorry for the photo quality, and feedback requested.
