Observation details
Among some calls I recorded I found one that appears to fit Interior West better than Pacific. It sounds like a Pacific ahh call, but rapidly repeated in a song form. After listening to a sampling of calls from each ssp on eBird, I have not found an example of a Pacific bird doing this - when they rapidly repeat call notes it seems to be tooey tooey notes (which I also heard today). This sounds distinctly different, and closer to Interior Wests calls. The calls here seem shorter than examples of Interior West on eBird. Posting here now and will continue research when possible, if anyone has input I’m happy to hear it. I don’t think this ssp has been reported at this location previously.
