Observation details
**Very rare in county, and high number. First reported by Chris Wood a few minutes earlier. Mostly foraging in the field to the southwest of the compost piles, directly adjacent to the abandoned house. Foraging at varying distances from the road in a loose group. When one bird would get separated from the main group, it would take flight to join them again. First six in this group, then joined by another. They flew farther back into the field and we drove around to check the compost piles. Here we found one sitting on the piles, then another flew west over piles towards pheasant pens. Shortly thereafter, we saw eight flying together over the original field, so I feel comfortable saying there were nine individuals.
