Observation details
Around 720 m. Just an incredible experience. We heard them singing their bright call across the road and we crossed and played the tape, expecting them to be difficult to see up on the heavily forested slope in front of us. However, I noticed some limbs/leaves shaking just a few feet in front of us and sure enough they were right in front of us, calling and singing loudly. Easy to see the gray head, rusty brown wings with white spotting on shoulder and white spot on mantle of male, with staring red eye. Great bird!
