Observation details
**Rare migrant in county, especially in spring. Alternate plumage adult foraging in puddle at base of spit. Calm and tolerant of our presence. As we were about to leave, got spooked by something (unseen raptor?) and took off calling headed south, then landed again near end of spit, then after a minute took off headed north and disappeared. High-pitched pipit-like calls.
