Observation details
First seen flying onto snag near stakeout just north of Bobcat Trail around 16:30. I was sitting on the bench on the trail when the falcon flashed by overhead and headed straight for a very prominent, high perch. Spectacular fast flying, long winged, very dark falcon with high contrast white and dark face and rufous around tarsus and under tail coverts. Jumping quickly from tallest, bleached out snag east of the paved road near the green bike trail sign, then flying off multiple directions, returning to perch. Note:. bird had not been seen at refuge entrance for 3 days.
