Observation details
Large thrush - larger than the Russet Tailed that we are used to seeing at Mount Glorious in Brisbane. This bird has a bill that is more in balance with the head size with the lower mandible slightly shorter than the upper as per the photo comparison on Merlin of the two bird species. Photos for ID only also show a relatively longer tail with no white in the tail corners. It was carrying food. Foraging in leaf litter close to the path. A very wet day in the forest today.
