Observation details
****Amazingly rare, especially in spring. Almost certainly first spring record for Basin and first May record for Northeast in eBird away from coast/St. Lawrence. Ratty 1st summer bird found by Bob McGuire. Sitting on point, periodically flying and disappearing before reappearing in another part of the gull flock. Occasionally sleeping and looking unhappy in steady rain. Very worn plumage, juvenile-like wing pattern but faded, adult-like yellow bill, black legs. Photos.
