Observation details
Found dead on Mustang Island by Tony Amos, who speculated that it was possibly a Stejneger's Petrel. The skeleton was sent to David Lee, Curator of Birds, North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences who confirmed the ID with help from Storrs Olson and specimens at USNM.
