Observation details
Continuing female, first observed down stream at the Taos County line by Cole Wolf on 1-20-22, Relocated by Meg Peterson at Pilar 1-23-22. Bob D'Antonio called me after observing the LTDU in Pilar at approx 1pm 1-23-22. I located the Long-tailed Duck just below the dam in Pilar mixed in with a flock of Common Goldeneye, Small pale duck with short bill, white face with dark spot. See photos. There is one previous Taos county record for LTDU from 12-31-94. US lifer, State and County bird for me!
