Media notes
Bells sparrow singing. Made from video where I can well see the sparrow vocalizing. Next photo is a screenshot of the video playing.
Observation details
Found precisely where ShawnM and RoyJ said they were: in the southwest corner of the parking lot (the lot with the diesel pump machinery). Strong malars, minimal striping on back, dark head. I could hear two Bells/Sagebrush chip notes calling to one another (I cannot tell Bells/Sagebrush call notes apart, but I saw and recorded this bird). Each one popped up on the wolfberry or sage bushes. Photographed 1 and recorded it making its chip note (video of this available where one can clearly see the bird). When I returned to the area before leaving, I heard its song (different from sagebrush but close to it). Recordings made and photos taken. Video available of the Bell's singing.
