Observation details
UPDATED: 2 Light morph SWHA flying with RTHA above rice fields, hunting rodents flushed by combine. Longer pointed wings than RTHA with plain white underwings, dark wrist marks, and very light streaking on breast in slight "vest" pattern. Tail longer with thin bars like juvenile RTHA but tail pattern different when fanned. Primaries darker and longer than RTHA with white bases. Small white patch on face, white throat, and "mustached" appearance. Second bird seen and photographed clearly a juvenile SWHA but I assumed it was same bird as before until review of photos shows distinct belly band of 1st year light morph SWHA. I'm always learning, so if you're willing to discuss the I.D. with me, I'm willing to hear you out! Email thebirdingproject@gmail.com
