Observation details

I was standing on the south-ish side of the bridge on Embarcadero near the nature center, looking out over the small lake in the mudflats. A Ridgeway's Rail walked right past me on the mud flat, before flying over to the edge of the pond. I was treated to a walk-by, a fly-by, a short swim, a full-speed run on the flats, several trips to and from the bushes, and even a bath! I was able to share the bird with three other birders while I was there. What a treat!
