Media notes
110 or more birds. Shrill, penetrating buzzy call notes. No doubt at least part of its function is to keep the flock together. These very small parrots call constantly even while feeding upside down. Despite the abundance of flower clusters on several large Eucalyptus trees, the Lorikeets engaged in a good deal of skirmishing among themselves. Recorded in mid-afternoon. Habitat: Tall flowering Eucalyptus trees near the bottom of a low hill in semi-open country near the sea. Weather: Wind. Habitat: Savannah.
