Observation details
Heard 3 more calling. First obs was a pair - male and female didn't seem too concerned about my presence as I became aware of them as soon as they emerged from the cover of the heath onto the trail and I walked further on so that they wouldn't feel threatened. They foraged on the trail for a few minutes before returning to cover. Second obs flushed - 2 went one way and 2 went in another direction. I felt that the second 2 were smaller and perhaps juves. I stayed around (observing Superb Fairy-wrens building a nest) and then heard a Brown Quail call very close by, perhaps 3 metres. I soon heard two more calls coming from the other side of the trail almost from where I had originally flushed them. 2 adults (male and female) walked quickly across the trail and joined what appeared to be two juvenile birds and they moved off into the cover of the heath. I presumed that these were the four birds I originally flushed and the adults had returned looking for their young. I observed 2 other single adult birds on seperate occasions.
